While we’re on the subject of Black Widow
For the umpteenth time, Black Widow is NOT wearing a leather catsuit in the film.
It annoys me to no end that one of the things I hear when people complain about her, or praise her for is that she is wearing a skintight leather catsuit.
I mean just LOOK at the frickin’ high-res images and the moving images of her on the big screen! DOES IT LOOK LIKE LEATHER TO YOU?!
Leather is a common fabric that is seen by almost EVERYONE, whether it’s patent leather or 100% naked untreated leather. And let me tell you, the fabric that Scarlett wears in the film is in NO WAY LEATHER.
She would be DYING if she was fighting in a leather catsuit, because that shit is NOT breathable.
Also the fact that Hawkeye is wearing pretty much the same thing (and his has less coverage than Black Widow’s uniform), and no one says anything about him.
Hey, hey! I complain about the fact that Hawkeye is wearing too much clothing ALL THE TIME. Also, I say a lot of things about his rear end in that suit. They are all respectful and positive and in no way implying that he puts the “Ass in Assassin.”
I just appreciate that Natasha isn’t wearing goddamn spike heels. THANK YOU FOR ONE MOMENT OF SANITY COSTUME DESIGNERS.
Yeah, I thought she was basically costumed like most of the other female SHIELD agents? IDEK. It was a costume she could move in, it wasn’t skintight, there wasn’t a lot of gratuitous cleavage, she was in practical shoes, AND she wasn’t photographed in an exploitive fashion.
On the other hand, as Razorqueen pointed out post-movie, Chris Evans’ pants clearly had been altered to hug dat ass (because, as she said, “I’ve sewn men’s trousers and they don’t just DO that on their own”) and the camera made sure we knew that. A lot.
I feel like no one also ever points out that Maria Hill and all the other SHIELD helicarrier flight deck agents are all also wearing tight suits, including the guys.
