This is a petition on the Directgov website - this goes straight through to parliament and at the current time of posting it only has 21 signatures

I know a lot of people are reblogging the one sponsored by anonymous which is great but if you live in the UK, this is going to be your best best at getting yourself heard about ACTA - even if you don’t live in the UK or even the EU, PLEASE REBLOG THIS, as ACTA is something that not only affects Europe but the rest of the world as well and this could be one of the only opportunities for it to be downturned

COME ON GUYS!!!!!

No more pretending to be US citizens just to sign petitions! This one’s international so we can petition our government too and we NEED to let them know we’re not ok with this.

We’re already in danger of extradition just for posting links to pirated files (see Richard O’Dwyer’s case), and this would make things a whole lot worse.

411 signatures. I know you guys can do much, much better than that.

Sign both petitions, but this one is more important.
Anonymous is more or less seen as a criminal hacker group even if their intents and purposes here are good, they are hardly going to be taken seriously.

sign it! just do it!

Number of signatures:10,664

This is smart.  But what about viruses?

Shh, if we don’t mention the viruses they’ll go away.

Consider this your call to action.

I know that we all love this site as an expression of our individuality, but the fact of the matter is, we are under attack. And what we do is distracting us from that fact.

The American government now has all the records from Megaupload’s servers. Do you know what that means for you? That means that if you have ever used Megaupload, the government has your fucking number. And they will come for you.

This whole situation is so nightmarish and ridiculous and we need to speak out. At the moment, we still have the power and the right to free speech and we have to use that, we have to take advantage of that and raise our voices until they overpower it all. Because this is scary, it’s terrifying, this is oppression, this is unlawful behaviour by governments who would see the Big Brother of 1984 become a reality, and that is not a joke and no exaggeration. The powerful are gaining power, the powerful are abusing their power and abusing their people. And I believe it is true ‘people should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people’, because we are the majority, and if we speak up, if we retaliate, if we fight and reason and stand together, then no one can deny that, and no one can turn a blind eye, a deaf ear. So speak up to keep the interned free, to keep media free, to keep us, you, everyone, speech, thought, actions - too keep our freedom. This is scary, but it’s also a battle, we don’t have to sit at home and worry, because we are the masses, because we can fight. Because we can win. So take action.

I am not going to shut up about this. If we don't come together, ACTA will wipe out the internet as we know it BY TOMORROW.
